Korean Guest Researchers at WWU

Following up on establishing resaerch contacts with the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in Ulsan, Korea, in late 2011, as well as on the research visit of Dominic Breuker to UNIST in 2012, WWU is pleased to announce the research visits of Prof. Minseok Song and Prof. Wooje Cho to Muenster.

Their research visit serves to boost the ties regarding joint research, joint education, and joint industry projects between both work groups. As regards joint research, publications on process mining are planned, since researchers from both departments are experts in this area. This research is in line with the focus on global business process management in the NSS project. In addition, the student and PhD student exchange programs will be further detailed in order to forster the exchange of personnell between the partners.

Dr. Minseok Song is an assistant professor at the school of Technology Management of UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) since January 2010.  After receiving his PhD at POSTECH in Korea, he stayed at the Information Systems (IS) department of the Technology Management (TM) of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) as a postdoctoral researcher from 2006 until 2009. His research interests include business process management, workflow, process mining, and product data management.

Dr. Wooje Cho is an Assistant Professor in the School of Technology Management at the UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) in Ulsan, Korea. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has industry experience at Samsung SDS as a Software Engineer. His research interests are in Strategy for IT firms, Strategic IT Investments, Information Security, and Information Systems Quality.

Prof. Song and Prof. Cho will offer a presentation to introduce their research as well as their institution on Tuesday, 23rd July.
